Media Release:

The Northern Bullants Football Club are pleased to confirm the club has officially accepted a formal license to join the newly formed VFL/Second Tier competition in 2021.

The AFL sent license offers to clubs from the Victorian Football League and North East Australian Football League across Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland, with a mandate for clubs to confirm their participation.

Northern Bullants President, Stephen Papal said: “We are delighted to confirm the Ants are back.

“Since the news of the Northern Blues and Carlton’s 18-year alignment ended on March 26, to be in this position brings a strong sense of fulfilment and justification to a lot of hard-working individuals who have got us into this position.

“I would like to make special mention of the Board of the Northern Bullants, to those hard working individuals who have worked tirelessly to continue operations of a football club with no guarantee of a happy ending.

“To each and every one of our Board members, today’s news is for you.

“To each and every one of our supporters, be it the Preston Football Club or the Northern Blues, today’s news is for you.

“And to the wider football community and our partners, for their care and support, we thank you. But our journey is only starting, and we look forward to you being with us on this next exciting chapter,” Papal said.

The Club encourages all supporters and the community to keep checking the club website for membership and sponsorship packages and our new online store. For all information, visit www.bringbacktheants.com.au
