Details: Arden Street Oval, Sunday 26th of June, 2:05pm (AEST)

Match History

The Bullants have surprisingly not met North Melbourne VFL since we became a standalone VFL team due to restrictions and lockdowns last year.

The Ant Hill

Against tough opposition in Southport last week the Bullants had too many lapses and went down eventually by 68 points. Although they played well in patches even keeping Southport goalless in the third quarter, there will be much for the boys to build upon against the more even matchup in North this week.

The opposition

Sitting one spot above us on the ladder in 19th, North Melbourne VFL are coming off the bye last week as well as having made six changes for this game. They will be hoping to find the winning and with their two wins this season have come from home games this season they will certainly fancy themselves at Arden Street Oval.

Matchups to watch

Tom Wilson v Marty Hore

The Ants skipper continued his consistent season with 33 touches and a goal against Southport last week. For North, Marty Hore has been building a very consistent game at VFL level, averaging 27 disposal and more than 7 marks a game too. Whoever can get first use out of these two midfield bulls will definitely be a deciding factor in the game.

Nathan Honey v Kallan Dawson

Honey has been in good goalkicking form for the Ants, kicking multiple goals in three out of his last four matches. On the other hand, this will be the debut game for North Melbourne’s mid-season drafted 196cm key defender Kallan Dawson. Hopefully these two can bring a bit of X-factor into the game for the spectators who come along.

What’s on the line

Both of these teams are coming off 7 match losing streaks and will see this as one of the biggest chances to knab a win and put some distance between each other on the ladder. This is sure to be a tight contest between two clubs desperate for some validation for their efforts this year, be sure to tune in this Sunday.
